A reactive, dreamlike environment
Development: Unity 6
Art: Autodesk Maya
Timeline: 1 month
Digital Clouds is an exploration of graphical environments as a means to express a feeling or mood. The inspiration for an unexpected collection of things comes from the global relationship between organic life and technology and our relationship with old and new technologies, while also sharing a space with recognizable nature. The collection of seemingly random objects is meant to cause initial confusion and wonder, in which the theme may be uncovered with further exploration. Meshes with a low number of polygons were created to compliment the abstract feeling of the scene.
This scene was inspired by the original humanoid character and the 'Frutiger Aero' aesthetic. You may see a few fish models as easter eggs in my following projects.
There is no end goal to this experience, nor is there any game mechanics other than simple navigation. Each object was modeled and placed in the scene in a gallery formation, allowing the viewer to walk up and explore the details of various objects
I took extra time to explore post-processing effects in Unity, including particle effects and Unity's own cartoon shaders.
